U.S. import tariffs on sporting goods and bicycles (2026)
Sporting goods usually carry a modest base duty, and the forced-labor tariff and China Section 301 decide most of the difference between origins. Bicycles stand out: an 11% base rate plus 25% Section 301 from China.

Total duty as a percentage of customs value, with the trade-agreement preference claimed where one exists. Excludes MPF and HMF fees. “+ AD/CVD may apply” marks origins with an antidumping or countervailing duty order that may cover the product; those duties are not included. What drives these rates
- Bicycles from China pay 25% under Section 301 List 3. Exercise equipment, golf clubs, skates, tents and inflatable balls pay 7.5% (List 4A).
- Taiwan's forced-labor tariff is 10% reduced by the general duty rate, so bicycles and golf equipment from Taiwan often pay the base rate or 10% at most.
- USMCA-qualifying goods from Mexico and Canada enter duty-free and are exempt from the forced-labor tariff. Exception: some Canadian products, including ice skates, exercise equipment, some fishing rods and other sporting goods, pay a 50% Section 338 tariff even when they qualify (HTSUS U.S. note 51).
