Privacy policy

TariffRx (tariffrx.com) is operated by Castle Court Inc (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use TariffRx, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific to what the site actually does.

What we collect

Account information. If you create an account: your email address and, if you provide it, your company name. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email; we do not store passwords.
What you save in TariffRx. Products you track, catalogs you upload, saved calculations and the HTS codes, countries, values and quantities in them.
Subscription and billing status. Your plan, trial and subscription status, and the customer and subscription IDs our payment processor gives us. Card and bank details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and are handled by Stripe; they never reach our servers.
Free email alerts. If you sign up for an alert without an account: your email address, the HTS codes and origins you asked us to watch, and whether you confirmed or unsubscribed.
Calculation limits. To apply the free daily and monthly calculation limits, we set a cookie with a random visitor ID and record which HTS codes were opened and when. For visitors without an account we also store a one-way hash of the IP address (never the IP address itself) to prevent abuse.
Usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are popular. It reports aggregated statistics and does not use cookies to follow you across sites.
Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the message and your contact details to reply.

How we use it

To provide TariffRx: run calculations, keep your tracked products and saved work, and send the rate-change alerts you asked for.
To manage subscriptions, trials and plan limits, and to send service emails such as sign-in codes, alert confirmations and receipts.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse of free limits, and fix problems.
To understand which pages and features are used, so we can improve them.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not show ads or use advertising cookies.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers that process information on our behalf, only to run TariffRx:

Supabase: database and sign-in.
Vercel: website hosting and page-view analytics.
Stripe: payments and subscription billing (Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment details you give it).
Resend: delivery of sign-in codes and alert emails.
Hostinger: our company email (hello@tariffrx.com).

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

Cookies

TariffRx uses only cookies needed to run the service:

Sign-in cookies that keep you logged in.
A calculation-limit cookie with a random visitor ID (kept for about 13 months) so free limits can be applied without an account.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Account information and saved work: while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days after you ask us to close it (except billing records we must keep for tax and accounting).
Free alert sign-ups: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only what is needed to honor the unsubscribe.
Calculation records for visitors without an account: a few days.
Server logs: for the limited period our hosting provider retains them.

Your choices and rights

Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your dashboard.
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information by emailing hello@tariffrx.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live (for example California, the European Union or the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to complain to a data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

Where your information is processed

TariffRx is run from the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using TariffRx from outside the United States, you understand your information will be processed there.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit database access to our servers, store IP addresses only as one-way hashes, and rely on Stripe for payment details. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it, as required by law.

Children

TariffRx is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will notify account holders by email.
